For some of you this may sound like empty words, until you can allow yourself to feel the reality of it.
I would like to share with you my first surprise encounter with MY effortless abundance. When I was 17 years old, I was “living in the fast lane” to chase my dream. I took on my first job, roofing houses under the hot Texas sun. To be honest, I hated that work, but felt obligated because my grandfather said, “Hard work is the key to success.” Well, I was so exhausted after work, I fell asleep on my motorcycle at 40 miles per hour. The wreck almost took my life. To allow all my broken bones to heal, I had to lie motionless on my back in a boring hospital room for three long months. At first I was very angry to have sabotaged my ambitious goals and miss out on all the summertime fun with my friends. I hated having nothing to do. But then I surrendered. I quit judging my situation, and to my surprise, I discovered a kind of happiness that had nothing to do with what I should do. I was just so happy to be alive. When I left that hospital room, for an entire year it seemed everything I touched turned to gold. I was in such gratitude to be able to participate in life. With seemingly no effort, I got joyously creative, and won awards with my photography, ceramics, and poetry. My grades shot up and I fell in love with the beautiful professional model of my school. From feeling very empty inside while overworking to prove my worth, to surrendering to the joy of each now moment I discovered a fullness of living that did not require huge effort. Not only that, I began tapping into my creative genius.
It seems many people need to experience an accident or illness before they surrender their obsession to get ahead, and wake up to the blessings that are already here.
Effortless Abundance is a state of mind and way of life that is not dependent upon how much money you have.
But when you feel the reality of living in a universe that fills all our needs and desires, the resources and money you need and desire tend to show up effortlessly.
While in this more open and spacious state of receptivity, we are often surprised how more opportunities and money seem to materialize out of thin air.
Once clear of negative programming, anyone can remember how to live in this natural state of grace and ease.
So I ask you now, “Which path do you choose to be on?…
…the path of burning yourself out to be a success?
or the path of realizing your beautiful essence is already a precious gift that is always gifted in return.
