Joa White-Eagle, MA is President and Senior Faculty member of the I AM University of Spiritual Psychology at Mount Shasta, California.  He has been in private practice for 35 years as an Intuitive Counselor, Life Coach, and Holistic Healer, working with individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Joa earned two Masters Degrees in Spiritual Psychology, from the University For Creation Centered Spirituality and from the University of Santa Monica. He is also a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute. Joa is a Certified Yoga Instructor and was owner of Illumination Yoga studio in Los Angeles. 

Joa developed a way of breathing called I AM BreathPlay, to re-pattern people’s daily breathing habit from fear to empowerment. I AM BreathPlay is a way of raising the Kundalini (the Soul’s life force) for a self-exalted experience without the side effects of drugs. Joa is also creator of the Freedom-Code Quantum Healing System, a method that miraculously reduces and eliminates emotional and physical pain instantly.

Much of Joa’s interest and training in spirituality and healing came from his life experiences starting with a near death experience, ascended master encounter, miraculous healing, and spiritual awakening after a motorcycle wreck at 17 years old.  While lying on his back in a hospital bed for 3 months, he discovered inner peace. From being told he would be crippled for life, he had a miraculous healing, and eventually became a long distance runner.   He also healed his chronic asthma and colitis by learning to re-pattern his breathing. Most importantly, he shifted from being disappointed with his life to finding inner peace and purpose.

Fascinated by the healing process and achieving higher states of wellness, Joa practiced Yoga and meditation and became certified in many healing modalities including Fitness Instructor,  Aerobic Exercise Specialist, Nutritionist, Iridologist, Massage Therapist (Swedish, Esalan, Neuromuscular Therapy, Acupressure, Polarity Therapy,  Reiki Therapy), Herbal Therapist, Colonic Irrigation Therapist, and Hatha Yoga Instructor (White Lotus Certified) and  Kundalini Yoga studies.

In 1989, a spiritual teacher named Evelyn Jenkins channeled Joa’s higher self name, Janakoayas, which means Marriage of the Opposites, recognized Joa’s intuitive gift, and encouraged him to use it professionally. Thousands of readings later, Joa continues to give Intuitive Readings today to help people see their Soul’s potential, purpose, and path.

Joa has had many supportive spiritual teachers of several traditions including Science of Mind and Unity of Christianity, Theravada and Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism (Bakti Yoga), and Native American. Joa has experienced the Native American Sweat lodge ceremony extensively, and has poured and built lodges.  He occasionally offers a Vision Quest each year on Mount Shasta.

Joa’s spiritual seeking shifted to “finding home” when he re-discovered the I AM Activity of Saint Germain at Majestic Mount Shasta, California.  Mount Shasta became Joa’s home for 5 blissful years – where he was blessed with dramatic encounters with ascended masters and angels.

Then the spiritual glamour seemed to wear off. He felt something was missing as his relationships were not lasting long, and he felt a growing desire to help people (and himself) in a deeper way. He was guided to move back into the cities looking for a counseling program where he discovered the University of Santa Monica. At USM, he learned to heal his childhood pain and his relationships. He discovered that his emotional body had fallen behind as he had been unconsciously “spiritually bypassing” his emotions, avoiding his human issues, which is deceptively easy to do for those on the spiritual path.

After graduating from USM,  in 2011 Joa was called back to Mt. Shasta.  The Ascended Master Saint Germain contacted Joa, inviting him to help disseminate the I AM Wisdom in a non-religious way by founding the I AM University.

Joa asked how would he ever be able to afford such an expensive endeavor.  At the time he had very little money. St. Germain said, “If you start a taxi transportation business, I will help it be successful to capitalize the University.” But then Joa asked, “How can I come up with the money to start a taxi business? St. Germain said,”If you move to Mt. Shasta, someone will give you money.” So, backed by faith alone, Joa moved to Mt. Shasta and lived in a tent from, August, September, October, November, and even into December! On one very cold night, Joa had a deep cry: “Where is this person who is going to give me money?”… as it wasn’t Joa’s nature to ask for handouts.  The next day Joa was prompted for the first and only time to ask for financial help from a woman he had given spiritual readings to.  She said angels were guiding her, and pulled out 3 gold coins out of her purse and handed them to Joa!  Additional money arrived another freak way to get Joa through a Mount Shasta winter and successfully launch the Taxi business.  For 5 years, Joa operated the taxi business while developing the University curriculum with a small number of students. In 2017, Joa was able to sell the highly successful taxi business so he could put 100 percent of his attention on the growing university.

Joa shares this story because he believes every person’s higher calling is to be supported.

If you become fully committed to doing your higher calling, angels will be behind you to help it happen with grace and ease.

One more note, as of 2023, Joa was guided to take a new last name, “White-Eagle.”  A renowned Spiritual Seer named Eterna (Linda Bandino) told Joa he was the enlightened Native American White Eagle in a past life. On the other hand, Joa’s recent past lives have been much heavier. So he has been guided to reclaim the White-Eagle name and has noticed a splendid shift in consciousness into greater authenticity.
