The Fires of Transformation

When I see another hundred houses burned down north of Mount Shasta, yet again, I ask myself, yet again, what is the point? Why are we here? Why am I here to experience this?… This pain. The answer that comes from my soul, through my tears, is I am here – and we are here to feel it all. And in feeling, we reach deeper within and without to that which spiritually sustains us. Our feelings thaw out our ice-o-lation. Our patterns of disconnection are getting burned down so we can become the authentic, naked, vulnerable. loving beings we really are; nothing – without each other.

Most of us grew up with little loving touch, and then touch became sexualized – so we could become even more afraid of being touched or afraid of being judged for touching in the wrong way.

Don’t we all long to be touched with love?  Generally speaking, I noticed people from Brazil and the Amazon seem so naturally happy, and they are very touchy. When they hug me I feel their love passing into me. They can also appreciate my hugs as they let my love in.

With my family, the closest times when our hearts connected deepest is during a family member’s funeral. I say this without complaint. There is some divine purpose behind loss that allows us to gain greater connection that we didn’t have before. Before we were too busy caught in survival or getting ahead to take the time to acknowledge each other deeply.  When loss happens, we get shaken out of our routines and come back to deep questioning, questions that help us realign our priorities to that which really matters most. We the survivors let go of our differences, and finally reach out to each other.

What matters more than being touched by love and to share this great loving with others? Nothing I can think of. Love is what we all want the most. It’s so elusive, intangible, yet real. When we feel it, we feel as if we can be, do, or have anything. When we don’t feel it, we feel without, alone, and unsafe in a dangerous world.

So how do we feel love? With deepest sincere intention, we call it in, and then give it to others. “Ask and it is given.”  Ask to feel “True love”, and you are calling into your life a True Love experience.

I desire to be like Rumi, drunk on love 24/7, and somehow get the work done!

In the loving,

JOA
